Telehealth Equipment Overview
Project E-vita Telehealth. More than just monitoring.
Project E-vita has four different hub/monitor solutions
to remotely gather Telehealth data in the Patient's own home with a solution to
suit every patient's needs. Below is a summary of the various platforms while in
the Features Overview (Left) in this section you can see a side by side comparison
of the solutions.
Each type of hub or monitor is used in conjunction with
a variety of peripheral devices (BP Meter, ECG, Scales, Glucose Meter etc) to pass
data back to the patient's record held in Project E-vita where it can be reviewed
by Healthcare Professionals.
RTX Telehealth Monitors
The RTX Telehealth monitors provided by Project E-vita
actually come in two varieties. There is a normal POTS version that passes data
gathered in the patient's home via a normal landline dialup internet connection
to the Project E-vita system. There is also a GSM mobile network version to enable
gathering of data where a landline may not be available.
The two varieties give a very powerful low-cost Telehealth
solution. The RTX units feature a unique scripting engine. This scripting capability
can be leveraged to question the patient about their condition and the patient's
responses passed back to their record in Project E-vita along with any data gathered
from peripherals. In the disease management of long term conditions like COPD, CHF,
Diabetes, Obesity etc these scripts give our customers a leading edge in monitoring
of their patient's well-being.
Soft touch, large rubber buttons and clear colour LCD
screen round off a simple-to-use device.
digiO2 Care Pal Monitor
The Care Pal is a new product in the market of Telehealth
and brings to Project E-vita a platform for patient data to be gathered via their
own broadband internet connection. The Care Pal can use a normal dialup landline
connection to the internet to send data to Project E-vita but also has Wi-Fi and
Ethernet support.
The device comes with a large colour LCD screen (7") making
it easy to use by those patients who may have impaired sight. Like the RTX devices
above the CarePal is certified as a Medical Device in the EU under Directive EN60601.
US FDA 510(k) certification is pending and due imminently.
Consult the menu option "Features" (Left) for an overview
of the range of peripherals this device can connect to Project E-vita.
Blackberry and Mobile Phone Integration
Blackberry and Mobile Phones can now be used as Gateways
to capture data from periperhals in the patient's home or office and pass this data
securely (Not as SMS which is unsecure) back to their patient record in Project
E-vita.
Using a patient's own phone or Blackberry immediately
removes the cost of a Telehealth monitor from the overall home monitoring project.
Evaware Ltd, the developers of Project E-vita intend over time to expand the number
of different peripherals that can be used in conjunction with Patient Mobile Phones.
