Prescribing in Project E-vita^TM

Introduction

Project E-vita^TM gives physicians access to an online Drugs and Appliances database for generation of Prescriptions at the point of delivery of care. Cutting costs by reducing the time taken prescribing whilst at the same time increasing Patient safety.

Consultants, Doctors, Dentists and nursing personnel alike can all prescribe from the Project E-vita database which in the ASP service is updated not less than every 6 months. Classic users with a maintenance contract receive updates on CD.

Prescribing personnel in your organisation can be categorised within three tiers, each having access to separate formularies. Normal physicians have complete access to the online formulary whilst Dental personnel can be restricted to the UK NHS approved Dental prescribing formulary and Nursing staff can be restricted to prescribing from the UK NHS nursing formulary.

From May-2006 the prescribing system has been amended to support your choice of electronic formulary and is no longer restricted to just the UK NHS DM+D. If you have a preference for another electronic formulary we will be happy to assist in establishing your prescribing system using it instead.

Project E-vita integrates with Microsoft Office to produce printed prescriptions providing for maximum flexibility in meeting National or organisational guidelines / requirements on the content of printed prescriptions.
